La Porsche 911 GT3 R pour la première fois en GT Open
Que fait TFT cette saison après avoir remporté la GT4 European Series – AM ?
Après deux ans en GT4 et avoir atteint notre objectif en remportant le championnat AM avec Niki (Leutwiler) et la Porsche Cayman GT4 CS MR l’année dernière, nous avons décidé de nous pencher de plus près sur les championnats GT Open. Heureuse coïncidence, Jesus Pareja (fondateur de la série GT Open), était en train de créer un nouveau championnat GT Cup Open pour les voitures issues de coupes monomarque en développant une BOP (Balance Of Performance). Actuellement, nous menons la classe AM avec notre Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Gen2. Avec un peu de chance, nous pourrions remporter le général, classement dans lequel nous sommes deuxièmes à une manche de la fin. La concurrence se compose de Lamborghini Supertrofeo, Mercedes, Mc Laren, Audi etc…
Quels sont vos projets pour la saison prochaine ?
Nous sommes déterminés à amener Porsche dans le Championnat GT Open en établissant un programme pluriannuel à partir de 2020. Le projet se structure autour du Team TFT, du pilote Niki, de son centre officiel Porsche à Zurich et de ses partenaires. Les budgets pour faire rouler la nouvelle Porsche GT3R sont évidemment très différents et nous recherchons un partenaire / pilote pour nous rejoindre, soit un excellent pilote AM soit un pilote PRO (Argent ou Or) pour pouvoir courir dans la catégorie Pro-Am. Les pilotes / partenaires intéressés sont invités à contacter Niki pour obtenir plus d’informations (coordonnées ci-dessous).
De plus, nous continuerons à engager la 911 GT3 Cup Gen 2 dans le GT Cup Open. Nous recherchons donc des pilotes / partenaires. Possibilité de monter un programme avec un seul pilote comme Niki l’a fait cette année. Encore une fois, n’hésitez pas à nous contacter si vous êtes intéressés.
Cela faisait longtemps que nous ne nous étions pas sentis aussi à l’aise dans un championnat, c’est possible grâce à la famille GT Open. Jésus et son équipe sont vraiment à l’écoute de leurs clients. En dehors de ça, les courses sont vraiment excitantes et il y a un réel respect entre compétiteur. Pour preuve, il n’y a pas de contacts entre concurrents dû à un comportement idiot ou un excès d’engagement. Un élément que nous apprécions énormément.

Porsche 911 GT3 R for the first time in GT Open
How is TFT doing this season after having won the GT4 AM European Series?
Very well indeed. After two years of GT4 and reaching our goal by winning the AM-championship with Niki (Leutwiler) and the Porsche Cayman GT4 CS MR last year, we decided together to take a next step by checking out the GT Open championships. It was a happy coincidence Jesus Pareja (founder of GT Open series) was in the process of establishing the new championship GTcupopen for single-make Trophy or Cup cars by developing a sound BOP (Balance of performance) as it turned out. Currently we are leading the AM-class with our Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Gen2 and with a little bit of luck we might even have a shot at the overall-Championship, where we are running second battling it out against the likes of Lambo’s Supertrofeo, Mercedes, Mc Laren, Audi etc.
What are your plans for next season?
We are determined to bring Porsche to the big GT Open championship by establishing a multiyear program starting 2020. We means TFT and Niki, his official Porsche Centre in Zürich and partners. Budgets running a new Porsche GT3R are obviousely different and we are looking for a strong partner/driver joining us, either another strong AM or a PRO silver or gold so we can run in the ProAm-class. Additionaly we will continue to run our very successfull 911 GT3 Cup Gen2 in the GT Cup Open and are looking for drivers/partners or one driver for a solo-program as Niki does this year. Again, interested parties should not hesitate to contact me.
It has been a while we were feeling so much at home in a race series as with the GT Open family. Jesus and his team are really listening to their customers and we really do feel treated as such. Apart from that racing is really good and there is still some respect to be found from your fellow competitor. Living proof of this is no damage from silly and overly motivated driver-behaviour, a fact we enormously appreciate.
